Improving how YouAccess our website

As part of Gaada’s ongoing work to remove barriers to accessing the visual arts, we have recently partnered with YouAccess to improve the accessibility of Gaada’s website.

You may have noticed the new person symbol in the bottom right corner of this page? Clicking this link will allow you to customise this website to suit specific visual needs, some of the options include: increasing text size, colours, and highlighting links; increasing the overall contrast of the website and images; inverting and grayscaling colours etc

Several of Gaada’s staff are Dyslexic, so we are particularly loving the feature which improves the overall readability of the website by allowing you to substitute the typeface for OpenDyslexic – a typeface designed against some common symptoms of dyslexia!

If you are part of an organisation looking to make your website easier to use and navigate for disabled people, Gaada highly recommends checking out YouAccess. The development of their website plugin has been driven by user experience, so if there is a particular feature you feel is missing, they will be happy to help!
