2022–2023

A programme of artist-led opportunities + activities which continued building upon the learning of the past 3 years, and introduced the first collaborative opportunity with our Norwegian partner Pamflett.

Safeland

2021/2022

A one year programme of visual art and community-led activities that began extending the safe space of Gaada’s visual art workshop, out into the Shetland landscape (and back again).

Weemin’s Wark

2020-2021

A year long programme of community workshops, cultural research, artist exhibitions, and publishing activities developed with support from Up Helly Aa for Aa, and Glasgow Women’s Library.

Quarantzine

2020

Four free zines published digitally during the 2020 Covid-19 Global Lockdown. Over 500 people from across the world shared the art they made during self-isolation and thousands came to read the zines.

E.R.R.A.T.A. (Extreme Remote Rural Artist Travel Agency)

2019

A series of installations and peer-led discussions which critically explore the barriers and benefits of contemporary art practice in extreme, remote, rural contexts.

Remote Host

2019

A supported opportunity for artists and students living in Urban centres to encounter Shetland through their existing practice.

Screenprint Show

2018/2019

Gaada’s first project was running a 12 week mobile workshop programme exploring screenprinting with Ability Shetland peer group Forward Directions. The programme concluded with a public exhibition of prints in a former shop on Lerwick’s main Highstreet.
